OUR BACKGROUND
Strong roots, sustainable growth
Our story begins with Delonix, the scientific name of the Flamboyant tree, which means “flaming” in French and derives from the Latin “flamma” because from a distance, it appears to be on fire when flowering.
This tree lives for around 70 years and is also known as red acacia, flaming tree, flower-of-paradise and rosewood. It takes eight years for its first flowering and blooms every spring.
Inspired by the energy and vitality of the Flamboyant tree, our Delonix turns eight-years-old in 2024. It is at its best.
Furthermore, the Flamboyant tree is the symbol of ESALQ (Luiz de Queiroz Higher School of Agriculture in Piracicaba, Brazil) and it has a special meaning for Eduardo Bastos, co-founder of the company, who studied there.
